How Do I Sue My Financial Advisor?

Suing your financial advisor can be complex and complicated. It depends on the contract provisions of your client agreement and whether the financial advisor is registered with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Most, if not all, client agreements mandate mandatory arbitration of any disputes. This means instead of filing a lawsuit at a federal or state court, the lawsuit must be filed in an arbitration forum instead.

Arbitrations regarding investor loss cases are generally heard in either FINRA or American Arbitration Association (AAA) arbitration.
